Güemes Memorial

Monumento a Güemes he monument that honor the memory of the Gral. Martin Miguel de Guemes is on the foot of the Hill San Bernardo, having the charge of the city. It has been worked in extracted stone of the same hill and culminates with the equestrian figure of the hereo gaucho, fused in bronze.

This monument was projected and executed by the sculptor Victor Garinio. The sculptural group, as much as the bas-relief that ornament the lateral ones of stone, was fused in the arsenal military Estaban of Luca from the army. The monument was inaugurated the 20 of February of 1931.

All the 16 of June, the Guard under the stars is realized, in which all the villagers recalls those last hours of the gaucho hero. The following day more than 5000 gauchos by horse pay tribute to him in the most traditional parade of the province.
